The Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq al-Said, has met Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araqchi in Muscat.
They discussed the regional situation and mediation efforts aimed at ending the war on Iran, Oman's state news agency reported on Sunday.
Fatah said it won most local councils, including Jenin, where the Palestinian Authority was previously accused of losing control to Hamas-linked Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam described the harsh actions of security forces as "unacceptable" following the man's arrest.
