Russian 90th Tank Division spotted in Pokrovsk

Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces have reported the presence of Russia’s 90th Tank Division in Pokrovsk.

According to Ukrinform, the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Telegram.

Since the beginning of May, units operating within the corps’ area of responsibility have killed or wounded 329 Russian troops. Ukrainian forces also destroyed or damaged more than 40 pieces of military equipment, including artillery systems.

Some of the artillery pieces were struck in Pokrovsk, which Russian forces are currently using to concentrate personnel and equipment in preparation for further offensive operations. The presence of Russia’s 90th Tank Division has been confirmed in the city.

In Myrnohrad, Russian troops are setting up command posts. The invaders are attempting to use the settlement as a “bridge” for a breakthrough toward Rodynske. Since the beginning of May, the 38th Separate Marine Brigade alone has struck 11 Russian artillery systems in this sector.

Capturing Hryshyne remains the primary objective of Russian forces at present. Several units from different Russian brigades are operating in the area. For an extended period, enemy infantry attempted to advance directly through the settlement, while other groups tried to bypass Hryshyne across open fields and move northward toward Vasylivka.

Ukraine’s Defense Forces engaged the enemy using all available means, including artillery, aviation, FPV drones, and small arms.

In recent days, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated two Russian assault troops in close-quarters combat in the southern part of Hryshyne. The Russian troops approached a shelter occupied by Ukrainian defenders. After a brief firefight, one Russian infantryman was killed. Another mistakenly believed he had broken through the Ukrainian defense line and advanced forward, only to be met with gunfire and eliminated.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that Russian forces have intensified activity along virtually the entire front and are regrouping troops, including concentrating around 106,000 personnel in the Pokrovsk sector.
