Air Force interceptions

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that between the evening of July 2 and the morning of July 3, Russian forces launched 105 attack drones – including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya decoy types – from Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo, and occupied Donetsk. Additionally, two Kh-59/69 guided aviation missiles were launched from the occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.

Ukrainian air defense systems – comprising aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups – intercepted 82 drones and one Kh-59/69 missile. The Air Force recorded that 21 drones and one missile struck 16 locations, with debris falling in five other areas.

Previous strikes in Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk

In Nikopol, one person was killed and three others were injured. In the Donetsk region, Russian aircraft dropped seven guided aerial bombs on Oleksandrivka, resulting in one death and two injuries, according to Governor Vadym Filashkin.

Kyiv July 2 assault aftermath

These strikes occurred as Kyiv observed an official day of mourning following the July 2 attack.

In the capital’s Darnytskyi district, a nine-story residential building was struck, destroying 64 apartments and killing at least four people inside the structure. Overall, the July 2 barrage across Kyiv resulted in at least 30 deaths and 91 injuries.

Rescue teams extricated 17 residents, including 7 pulled alive from the debris. President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the site to assess the damage.

Nationwide on July 2, Russia launched 74 missiles and 496 strike drones, striking more than 130 sites across Kyiv, including 60 residential buildings, an ambulance station, a research institute, and a hotel.
