In two Truth Social posts, Trump compared US spending on the transatlantic military alliance with that of other major members.
“Ridiculous for the U.S.A. to continue along this one-sided path when the relationship is not reciprocal. They were not there for us!!!” he wrote in one of the posts.
Trump said in another post that the US has spent more money on the military alliance than any other country “to protect them, without getting any benefit from so doing”.
Muhammad Naim Jandia had been the head of military security for Hamas's Shajaiyah Battalion and had taken part in the kidnapping of Captain Daniel Perez during the massacre.
In a Truth Social post on Thursday, Trump complained the United States was spending money to protect NATO members "without getting any benefit from so doing."
Separately, Israel Police on Thursday arrested a resident of the West Bank town of Tarqumiyah suspected of being involved in the criminally motivated kidnapping of an IDF soldier.
"The way we look today at an emerging threat, our approach toward the enemy is different. Today there is no such thing as no response. That thinking is different from before," the officer said.
