Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has welcomed the ceasefire in the Middle East, saying it is now time to show "sufficient decisiveness" to compel Russia to do the same in its war against Ukraine.
Details: Sybiha welcomed the efforts that have led to a ceasefire between Iran and the US and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
He stressed that "American decisiveness works".
"We believe it is time for sufficient decisiveness to force Moscow to cease fire and end its war against Ukraine," Sybiha emphasised.
Background:
The US and Iran have accepted a proposal from Pakistan for a two-week ceasefire in order to prepare a peace agreement.
Iran has agreed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open for shipping during this period.
US President Donald Trump has stated that the US will assist in increasing maritime traffic through the Strait.
