Ukraine’s air defense forces neutralized 203 of the 236 drones used by Russian invaders in attacks starting on the evening of April 18.
According to Ukrinform, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Telegram.
From 17:30 on April 18, Russian forces attacked with 236 strike UAVs, including Shahed-type drones, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types, launched from Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo (Russia), Donetsk (temporarily occupied territory), and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea). Around 150 of them were Shahed-type drones.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 08:00 on April 19, air defense shot down or suppressed 203 drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
There were confirmed hits by 32 strike UAVs at 18 locations, as well as debris from downed drones falling in eight locations.
The attack is ongoing, with enemy drones still present in the airspace.
As Ukrinform reported, in Chernihiv, as a result of a UAV crash overnight on April 19, two private houses and an educational institution were damaged. The head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Chaus, reported that a 16-year-old boy was killed and four people were injured.
