Authorities in Iran’s Petrochemical Special Economic Zone said there has been no leakage of pollutants from the Amirkabir Petrochemical Company, adding the situation is under control, Tasnim news reported.
The statement said emergency and crisis management teams had taken necessary measures following the incident.
It added that there was no danger to nearby cities and urged residents to ignore rumours and rely on official sources for information.
The main oil barrel indexes show a 15% average fall, while most markets worldwide, especially Asian markets, are opening up during early trading hours.
