The Israeli military said its air force struck several targets at a petrochemical complex in Mahshahr, a city in Iran's southwestern Khuzestan province.
In a brief statement, the military said more details about the operation would be released later.
Iranian media had earlier reported the attack, citing local officials. A security official quoted by the Fars news agency said Israeli forces targeted the Karun Petrochemical Company, causing damage to part of the facility.
The official said information regarding the extent of the damage and any casualties would be announced at a later stage.
