At this moment, three months after the joint U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran, the major debacle in Lebanon and the continued strengthening of Hamas in Gaza, one might have expected a decline in support for Likud in the polls. In many countries with comparable political standards, the failures of October 7, 2023, and the subsequent outcomes across these three fronts could have been sufficient to end the political career of a leader, even one as poisonous as Benjamin Netanyahu.
