The Israeli navy intercepted 50 vessels bound for Gaza carrying 400 activists, with troops informing participants of the Global Sumud Flotilla that they were under arrest, the Israeli Channel 12 reported.
According to the report, the operation to seize the fleet of boats took place hundreds of kilometers away from the Israeli coast.
"The Russian supplier of the cargo will have to find an alternative destination to unload it," read a statement issued by Israel’s Grain Importers Association.
A 36-year-old man was arrested by Israel Police on Wednesday in connection with the case and is being questioned for racist assault.
