A Queens man was charged with three hate crime assaults against Brooklyn Jewish residents on Friday, according to the New York Police Department and Williamsburg Shomrim.

Forty-one-year-old Andrze Wnuk was charged with three hate crime assaults, said the NYPD, after the force responded to reports of multiple assaults.

Wnuk was reportedly wearing a shirt with an Iranian Islamic Regime flag, according to The New York Post and Williamsburg News.

The 48-year-old, the 38-year-old, and the 21-year-old men who were allegedly attacked by Wnuk complained of pain in their faces but refused medical treatment.

Shomrim thanked the NYPD

The Shomrim neighborhood watch group thanked the NYPD for their swift response to the incident on X.

In the first quarter of 2026, over half of all confirmed hate crimes in New York City were against Jews, according to NYPD statistics. Despite Jews only making up about 10 percent of the city's population, they were targeted in fifty-five percent of the hate crimes.
