Israel began marking Memorial Day on Monday. Altogether, 25,648 members of Israel's security services have been killed in its wars since 1860, according to the ministry. There are currently 59,583 bereaved family members in Israel – including parents, children, siblings, fiancées and guardians – with 7,165 added since the October 7 attack. According to National Insurance Institute data, 5,313 civilians have been killed since 1851, the date marking the beginning of the pre-state Jewish community in what is now Israel; 1,017 have been killed since October 7.











Fatah said it won most local councils, including Jenin, where the Palestinian Authority was previously accused of losing control to Hamas-linked Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam described the harsh actions of security forces as "unacceptable" following the man's arrest.
Hundreds of agents from several law enforcement agencies were tasked with protecting the annual bash, which President Donald Trump headlined this year.
