The following is the March 23, 2026, Congressional Research Service report, The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) System.  From the Report According to the Department of Defense (DOD), the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system (Figure 1) is a key element of U.S. ballistic missile defense (BMD).
