Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia leaves 40,000 without power, one injured

Russian forces attacked infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia on the morning of March 19, leaving one person injured and around 40,000 consumers without electricity.

Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Russians are attacking the infrastructure of the regional center. Voltage fluctuations may be observed in some districts of the city," Fedorov wrote.

He said that, preliminarily, one person was injured in the attack.

"The victim is in serious condition. Medics have been dispatched to the scene," the official added.

According to the regional governor, more than 38,000 residential consumers and about 2,000 businesses were left without power due to the strike. Critical facilities are being switched to backup power sources to ensure uninterrupted operation.

Over the past day, Russian forces carried out 864 strikes on 41 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, killing one person and injuring two others.

"One person was killed and two were injured as a result of enemy attacks on the Zaporizhzhia district," Fedorov said.

In particular, Russian forces carried out 23 airstrikes on Bilenke, Veselianka, Liubytske, Zalyvne, Yurkivka, Zirnytsia, Nove Pole, Lisne, Barvynivka, Huliaipilske, Vozdvyzhivka, Novoselivka, Kopani, Dolynka, Verkhnia Tersa, and Zelene.

In addition, 596 drones of various types (mostly FPVs) attacked Zaporizhzhia, Novomykolaivka, Mala Katerynivka, Chervonodniprovka, Novooleksandrivka, Veselianka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Myrne, Charivne, Staroukrainka, Hirke, Zelene, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, and Nove Zaporizhzhia.

Four MLRS strikes were recorded on Mahdalynivka, Novoandriivka, Huliaipilske, and Verkhnia Tersa.

Russian forces also carried out 241 artillery strikes on Chervonodniprovka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Myrne, Charivne, Staroukrainka, Hirke, Varvarivka, and Dobropillia.

According to the regional administration, 43 reports were received about damage to residential buildings, non-residential premises, and infrastructure facilities.
