Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Jesse Braswell, of Colorado, was killed in the shooting, which took place around 5:15 a.m on Saturday, while another unnamed sailor was taken into pre-trial confinement. The two were part of the in-port security force for the carrier while the ship is being completed at HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding, a defense official told USNI News.
