A total of 63% of Ukrainians believe that in 10 years their country will be a prosperous member of the European Union, a survey has shown.

Quote: "We have asked respondents to choose from two statements, each describing a possible future in 10 years. One statement optimistically describes Ukraine as a prosperous EU member, while the other, by contrast, is a pessimistic description of a ruined country. That is, we measure the conditionally strategic/long-term optimism of Ukrainians."
Details: The level of optimism has thus slightly decreased since January 2026 but remains fairly high. Specifically, 63% of Ukrainians assess Ukraine's future optimistically (compared to 66% in January). The share of pessimists stands at 25% (up from 22%).
Details: KIIS's national poll was conducted between 20 and 27 April using telephone interviews based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers across all government-controlled regions of Ukraine. A total of 1,005 respondents were surveyed. The poll was conducted among adult Ukrainian citizens aged 18 and over who were residing in the government-controlled territory of Ukraine at the time of the survey.
Formally, under normal circumstances, the margin of error of such a sample (with a probability of 0.95 and taking into account the design effect of 1.3) does not exceed 4.1% for indicators close to 50%, 3.5% for indicators close to 25%, 2.5% for indicators close to 10%, 1.8% for indicators close to 5%.
Under conditions of war, in addition to the specified formal error, a certain systematic deviation is added.
