In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, a driver opens fire on a pedestrian during a confrontation.
According to Ukrinform, the Kyiv City Department of the National Police reported this.
The police received a report that an unknown individual had fired several shots at a pedestrian on Kamianska Street. Special forces and a patrol crew arrived at the scene.
Law enforcement officers detained a resident and seized a non-lethal weapon from him.
It was established that the pedestrian was crossing the roadway in an unauthorized place, and the driver made a remark to him. After that, an argument broke out between the men. Subsequently, the driver pulled out a weapon and fired about three shots at the pedestrian, as a result of which the pedestrian sustained injuries to his leg and back.
The suspect was detained in accordance with legal procedures and charged under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—hooliganism committed with particular audacity, using an object specifically prepared to cause bodily harm.
The perpetrator faces up to seven years in prison.
As reported by Ukrinform, on April 18, in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, an unknown man opened fire on people. He then took hostages in a store and fired at police officers during his arrest. Negotiators tried in vain to make contact with the perpetrator. Ultimately, he was neutralized.
The Prosecutor General's Office stated that the shooter was a 58-year-old native of Moscow.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the incident began with a domestic dispute. The suspect fired the first shots with a non-lethal weapon near the building’s entrance, then returned to his apartment, grabbed a carbine, opened fire, and went outside.
