Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Brussels on Monday, to discuss expanding Ukraine’s defense production with support from NATO’s industrial base.

“We spoke about ways to further scale up the Ukrainian arms manufacturing with the support of NATO’s industrial base – for the mutual benefit of Ukraine and the Alliance,” Sybiha wrote on X.

He also emphasized the critical importance of NATO’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List, or PURL, initiative, and the need for new contributions to it.

The PURL mechanism is designed to coordinate priority military supplies for Ukraine from NATO allies, including urgently needed air defense and other weapons systems.

The talks also covered preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in Turkey, Sybiha said.

The meeting came during Sybiha’s visit to Brussels for EU and NATO-related talks, as well as a high-level meeting of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.
