Dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD-47) sailed through the Singapore Strait this week and is headed west through the Strait of Malacca, according to ship spotters. Rushmore, a Whidbey Island-class amphibious warship, is expected to meet up with the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group in U.S. Central Command, USNI News previously reported. USS Tripoli (LHA-7), USS New Orleans (LPD-18) and elements of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit chopped into U.S. 5th Fleet last week.
