Israeli police detained the grand mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, after he finished delivering a sermon and leading Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He was released shortly after, after being given a one-week ban from the mosque.
The grand mufti is the highest-ranking Islamic legal and religious authority that oversees the Temple Mount/Al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to sources in the Waqf, Sheikh Hussein was detained immediately after Friday prayers and was later released, subject to a seven-day ban from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque. So far, the Israeli police have not responded to the arrest or the ban.
An explosion heard in the eastern part of Tehran province was caused by the controlled disposal of ammunition remaining from the war, Iranian state media, citing a local official, said on Saturday.
The official said the operation posed no threat to citizens and that no incident had occurred.
Earlier on Saturday, Iranian state media reported that an explosion was heard in the eastern part of Tehran province, with residents of Pakdasht and Qiyamdasht reporting the blast while its source and exact location were not immediately known.
U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that the United States is prepared to respond with overwhelming force if Iran attempts to assassinate him.
Trump wrote that "1,000 missiles" are already "locked and loaded" and aimed at Iran, with thousands more ready to follow in the event of an assassination attempt.
He also said the U.S. military has been ordered to prepare an operation that would "completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran."

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a post on X that Iran has "so far kept its word," accusing U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent of violating Article 9 of the interim agreement by imposing new sanctions on Iran.
"That violation follows other violations and missteps by the United States," Araghchi wrote, adding that "there can only be mutual compliance."

Iran told the United States that recent attacks on shipping were carried out by "an errant part" within its system, senior U.S. officials told Reuters.
The officials described conversations between the two sides as "productive," but stressed that "either we make a deal or we don't."
They added that the United States has military options to ensure Iranian nuclear sites remain inaccessible, adding that "if we don't get the nuclear dust, we do not have a deal with Iran."
Washington is also demanding that by Saturday, Tehran issue a public statement saying all shipping channels are open and that it will stop firing at ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the officials said.
