Death toll in Dnipro rises to nine after child pulled from rubble following Russian strike

A child's body has been recovered from the rubble of an apartment building destroyed by a Russian strike in Dnipro, with the death toll rising to nine.

Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Rescuers recovered the body of a child born in 2023 from under the rubble of a four-story building destroyed in the attack. Last night, Russians killed eight people in Dnipro," he said.

Later, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported that the number of people killed in the Russian attack on Dnipro had increased to nine, with 35 injured and six people reported missing.

Overall, Klymenko stated that 13 people were killed and more than 100 injured across Ukraine as a result of the combined Russian strike, with the most severe destruction of civilian infrastructure in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.

In Kyiv, emergency services worked throughout the night at nearly 29 locations across the city. Most fires have been extinguished, while operations continue at six active sites in five districts.

Four people were killed in the capital, and more than 60 were injured, including a three-year-old child with shrapnel wounds.

Residential buildings, a car dealership, a utility enterprise, an academy, warehouses, and a gas station were damaged. A fire also broke out at the Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs No. 8041.

Citizens with scheduled appointments will be able to receive services at any other Kyiv service center.

Dnipro and Kharkiv also suffered heavy damage. In Dnipro, residential apartment buildings were destroyed, with nine people killed, including a rescue worker, who was heading to a call at the time of the strike.

In Kharkiv, residential buildings and a food enterprise were damaged, and more than ten people were injured.

Damage was also recorded in the Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv regions, and Zaporizhzhia.

In the Kyiv region, rescuers extinguished fires in residential buildings, a postal terminal, and vehicles.

All necessary units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are involved in emergency response and recovery efforts.

Earlier reports indicated six deaths in Dnipro, including a rescuer, and 33 injured.
