A fire has been reported at an oil refinery in the city of Tuapse in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai following a drone attack.
This was reported by the Telegram channel ASTRA, according to Ukrinform.
Overnight on April 16, residents of the Krasnodar Krai reported numerous explosions. Later, regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev stated that there were both dead and injured in Tuapse as a result of the attack.
Eyewitnesses shared footage of a fire that broke out in Tuapse after the strike. According to ASTRA’s analysis, the Tuapse oil refinery is burning.
The Tuapse oil refinery is operated by LLC RN-Tuapse Refinery and forms a single production complex with the company’s marine oil products terminal, operated by Rosneft subsidiary LLC RN-Tuapse Marine Terminal. It is part of the Russian oil company Rosneft.
Overall, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defenses allegedly shot down 207 drones overnight over the Belgorod, Smolensk, Kursk, Bryansk, and Oryol regions, Krasnodar Krai, occupied Crimea, as well as over the Black and Azov Seas.
As previously reported, on April 9, drones struck a key oil pipeline infrastructure facility in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai – the Krymskaya production and dispatch station.
