Drone attacks cause fires at oil depot in Armavir, port in Taganrog, Russia

Drones once again targeted fuel infrastructure facilities in Russia overnight on May 30.

According to Ukrinform, the Telegram channel ASTRA stated this in a post.

A drone strike caused a fire at the oil depot of Southern Oil Company LLC in the city of Armavir, Krasnodar Territory.

Local authorities said the blaze was reportedly contained and that no casualties were recorded.

In the city of Taganrog in Russia's Rostov region, drones attacked the port, triggering fires aboard a tanker and at a fuel storage tank.

"As a result of the UAV attack, a tanker, a fuel reservoir, and an administrative building caught fire on the territory of the port in Taganrog. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties," Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar said.

Russian authorities later reported that the fires had been extinguished and that no one was injured.

Overall, Russia's Defense Ministry claimed that its air defense systems had shot down 127 drones overnight over 11 regions, Krasnodar Territory, temporarily occupied Crimea, and the waters of the Sea of Azov.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Russia's diesel fuel production fell by approximately 10% in May following Ukrainian drone strikes on oil refineries.
