Freeing Crimea is necessary to end the war, says former U.S. commander

Former U.S. Army Europe commander Ben Hodges said that a lasting and sustainable end to the war is not possible if Russia retains control of Crimea, calling it “the most crucial location in this war,” in an interview with Ukrinform on May 27.
