The Israeli army targeted areas in the Baalbek region, about 80 kilometers away from the Israeli boundary with Lebanon.
Elsewhere, an Israeli drone struck a house early on Thursday in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, causing a large blaze that engulfed the building and a number of vehicles near it.
"We can confirm the death of a US government employee assigned to US Embassy Rangoon," a State Department spokesperson said, without providing additional details.
