Kyiv has declared 3 July a Day of Mourning for those who were killed in Russia's attack on the capital on the night of 1-2 July. This attack killed at least 13 people.

Details: According to Klitschko, flags will be flown at half-mast on all municipal buildings across the city. The city authorities have also recommended that state flags be lowered on government and privately owned buildings.

All entertainment events in Kyiv have been cancelled for the day.

Quote: "Search and rescue operations are continuing at the damaged residential building in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district. Rescue workers are still searching for people trapped beneath the rubble."

  • On 1 July, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia was preparing another large-scale strike on Ukraine.
  • It later emerged that Russian forces had launched drone attacks on Kyiv, followed by missiles.
