Three people were killed and three others wounded when a Ukrainian drone crashed in the town of Pionersky, near Istra outside Moscow, Governor Andrei Vorobyov said.
Five private homes caught fire in Pionersky, and two more were damaged in Babkino, also near Istra. In Solnechnogorsk, a drone hit an apartment building, injuring two people, damaging a wall, and blowing out windows. In Mozhaysk, a cornice on an apartment building was damaged and windows were blown out.
In all, more than 350 Ukrainian drones attacked Moscow and the surrounding region starting on the evening of July 12, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. Most of the drones were shot down “on the distant approaches,” and 50 were destroyed on their approach to Moscow.
In Vladimir, a downed drone blew out the windows of one apartment in a high-rise residential building, Vladimir Governor Alexander Avdeyev said. No one was killed or injured. Thirty-nine people, including eight children, were evacuated from the building.
