Another vessel was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, with a

projectile hitting a tanker and damaging its bridge, Bloomberg
reported.

The tanker’s crew is safe, UK Maritime Trade Operations

said.

In a separate update, the Joint Maritime Information Center

raised the threat level for ships in the region to “substantial.”

Reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the first attack on a civilian vessel afterward

On June 18, U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian

President Masoud Pezeshkian remotely signed a memorandum of understanding aimed
at stabilizing the situation in the Middle East.

Before that, CNN published the text of the 14-point

memorandum. Under the document, the United States allowed Iran to export oil
and lifted sanctions, while Tehran committed to ensuring stable shipping
between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman within 30 days.

On June 18, U.S. Central Command said the blockade of the

Strait of Hormuz had been fully lifted.

On June 25, CBS News reported that a Singapore-flagged

civilian cargo ship was struck while passing through the Strait of Hormuz off
the coast of Oman. Initial reports referred to an “unknown projectile,” but the
U.S. side later said it was an Iranian drone.

The U.S. military said it carried out strikes on several

Iranian military sites on June 26 in response to the attack on the merchant
vessel Ever Lovely in the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM said missile and drone storage sites and coastal

radar stations were hit. The U.S. side described the strikes as a “decisive
response” to the attack on the Singapore-flagged civilian vessel traveling
along the coast of Oman.

After that, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it

had shelled locations where U.S. troops are stationed in the Middle East.
