"No meeting is planned to take place between Iran and the US," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Bagahei said in a post on X/Twitter early Saturday morning.

"Iran's observations would be conveyed to Pakistan," added Baghaei.

The White House announced on Friday that Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will be engaging in direct talks with Iranian negotiators this weekend.

US President Donald Trump is sending Witkoff and Kushner to Islamabad, Pakistan, to participate in talks with Araghchi, White House Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt later confirmed.

"I can confirm @SEPeaceMissions and @jaredkushner will be off to Pakistan again tomorrow morning to engage in talks," announces @PressSec.

"The Iranians reached out, as the president called on them to do, and asked for this in-person conversation," she said. "We're hopeful that it will be a productive conversation that will hopefully move the ball forward to a deal."

Trump, she said, "is always willing to give diplomacy a chance... We hope progress will be made."

Leavitt later confirmed that VP JD Vance would be on standby in case the talks trended positively.

Iran to make offer aimed at satisfying US demands, Trump tells Reuters

Trump told Reuters on Friday that Iran plans to make an offer aimed at satisfying US demands, as peace talks were expected to resume in Pakistan.

"They're making an offer, and we'll have to see," Trump said during a phone interview.

Trump said he did not yet know what the offer would be. He has been adamant that any deal include Iran giving up its enriched uranium and allowing freedom of oil traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Later Friday evening, the Iranian delegation arrived in Pakistan, two Pakistani government sources told Reuters.

Iran's parliament media office denied reports that Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf had resigned as head of Iran's negotiating team, and emphasized that no new round of talks had been scheduled yet

Previously, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was set to meet with Pakistani mediators before he traveled to Oman. The Pakistani teams reportedly believe that this meeting will lead to another round of negotiations between the two powers.

CNN had previously reported, citing Iranian media and a US source, that Iranian negotiators would hold talks with a Pakistani delegation on Friday, but not with any US representatives.
