Over 500 Ukrainian drones strike 20 Russian regions and occupied Crimea overnight. Refinery hit in Yaroslavl, blackout across Crimea.

Russian air defense forces shot down 519 Ukrainian drones overnight on July 6, striking targets across more than 20 regions of Russia, occupied Crimea, and the Sea of Azov, the Defense Ministry said. The total number of drones launched in the attack is unknown; the ministry reported only those intercepted.

In Yaroslavl, drones struck the Yaroslavnefteorgsintez refinery (Slavneft-YANOS), according to Astra, an independent Telegram channel, and the Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+. Both outlets cited photos and videos from witnesses showing smoke rising over the city.

Regional authorities in Yaroslavl confirmed only that the area had come under drone attack. Traffic out of Yaroslavl toward Moscow was blocked for several hours. Governor Mikhail Yevrayev made no statement on the consequences of the strike.

Ukrainian drones have hit the Yaroslavl refinery on multiple previous occasions, including in May, Astra said. The facility is one of the largest oil-processing plants in Russia.

In the Leningrad region, preliminary reports from local authorities said infrastructure at the Luga firing range and near the ports of Ust-Luga and Vysotsk was damaged. The nature of the affected facilities was not specified. There were no casualties.

Occupied Sevastopol lost power after an attack on energy infrastructure outside the city, said Mikhail Razvozhaev, the Russian-appointed governor. He warned that trolleybuses would not run in the morning and that social facilities had switched to backup power.

Later, Krymenergo reported a blackout across all of Crimea. Repair work is underway.
