Ukraine downs 610 aerial targets used by Russia in overnight attack

Ukraine’s air defense forces have neutralized 30 Russian missiles and 580 drones since the evening of April 24.

According to Ukrinform, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.

Starting from 18:00 on April 24, Russian forces carried out a combined strike on critical infrastructure targets across Ukraine using attack UAVs and missiles launched from air, sea, and land.

The main direction of the attack was Dnipro. The enemy also targeted Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Kyiv regions.

In total, the radar units of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detected 666 aerial attack assets (47 missiles and 619 UAVs):

  • 12 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles launched from Millerovo, Kursk, Yeysk (Russia), and temporarily occupied Crimea;
  • 29 Kh-101 cruise missiles launched from the Caspian Sea;
  • one Iskander-K cruise missile launched from Bryansk region (Russia);
  • five Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the Caspian Sea;
  • 619 attack UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types, launched from multiple directions in Russia and occupied Crimea – about 400 of them were Shahed-type drones.
  • The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

    As of 08:00 on April 25, preliminary data show that 610 aerial targets were shot down or suppressed, including 30 missiles and 580 drones:

  • 26 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
  • four Kalibr cruise missiles;
  • 580 UAVs of various types.
  • There were confirmed hits by 13 missiles and 36 attack drones across 23 locations, as well as debris from downed UAVs falling in nine locations.

    Information on four missiles is still being verified, with no confirmed impacts reported so far.

    The attack is ongoing, with several new groups of attack drones entering Ukrainian airspace, the Air Force warned.

    As previously reported, 14 people, including a child, were injured in Dnipro as a result of the massive Russian strike.
