Ukraine Recovery Conference starts in Gdansk

The two-day Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) begins on Thursday in the Polish city of Gdańsk.

A Ukrainian government delegation headed by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko will participate in the event, Ukrinform's correspondent reports.

This year's conference program is divided into five thematic areas: business, security and defense, European Union integration, regional development, and human capital.

The Polish organizers expect around 5,000 participants and plan to oversee the signing of approximately 200 agreements, memorandums, and letters of intent for cooperation.

The forum's official program will be preceded by a closed ministerial meeting of the Ukraine Donor Platform. A key event of the conference will be the official opening ceremony attended by heads of state and government.

Delegations from around 100 countries are expected to take part in the conference. An exhibition area has also been set up as part of URC 2026.

Ahead of the conference, a Civil Society Forum was held in Gdańsk with the participation of hundreds of representatives from various countries, along with the Ukraine-Poland Interparliamentary Assembly.

As previously reported, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba and Poland's Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak discussed joint projects between the two countries, practical aspects of cooperation, and security challenges.

Speaking at the 17th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Ukraine Donor Platform 2026, held in Gdańsk on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference, Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko stated that Ukraine needs continuous, predictable, and coordinated support from its partners next year in order to maintain financial stability.
