Under a veneer of coexistence, Israeli health care is rife with anti-Arab bias

Israel's health care system likes to boast about coexistence while pointing to the high percentage of Arabs in health professions: just over a quarter of medical staff and about half of all pharmacists, an island of equality in a sea of hostility and discrimination. But reality provides fewer reasons to celebrate. A new report by Physicians for Human Rights Israel outlines a mechanism of political persecution and institutional discrimination against Arabs.
