Aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73) departed Saturday from Yokosuka, Japan, according to ship spotters.
In the Caribbean Sea

The Amphibious Ready Group includes USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7), USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD-28) and the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit based out of Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Base New River. The 22nd MEU consists of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 (Reinforced), Combat Logistics Battalion 26 and the Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment.
Guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG-70) has also been operating in the region. Lake Erie is homeported at Naval Base San Diego, Calif. Littoral Combat Ship USS Billings (LCS-15) was also operating in the Caribbean Sea as of last week. Billings is based at Naval Station Mayport, Fla.

Command ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC-20) transited the Strait of Gibraltar last Monday and arrived Friday in Rota, Spain, according to ship spotters.

The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group includes Boxer, USS Comstock (LSD-45), USS Portland (LPD-27) and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Comstock is in U.S. 5th Fleet while Portland is still operating in the Western Pacific.
