A total of 235 combat engagements between Ukrainian forces and Russian invading troops were recorded along the frontline on March 18, with the heaviest fighting reported in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on Facebook in its 08:00 update on Thursday, March 19.
The enemy carried out 70 airstrikes, dropping 235 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces deployed 6,831 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,534 shelling attacks on Ukrainian troop positions and settlements, including 110 using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
Russian aviation strikes targeted, in particular, areas near Ivanivka, Dobropasove, and Pokrovske in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as Vozdvyzhivka, Novoselivka, Zelene, Zirnytsia, Dolynka, Huliaipilske, Kopani, Liubytske, Zalyvne, Veselianka, Yurkivka, and Bilenke in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Air Force units struck five areas where enemy personnel and equipment were concentrated.
In the North Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces carried out 118 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including 16 using MLRS. They also launched three airstrikes using three guided aerial bombs. Six combat engagements were recorded in these areas.
In the South Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian troops attempted 14 assaults to break through Ukrainian defensive lines toward Veterynarne, Zelene, Prylipka, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Chuhunivka, Okhrimivka, and Bochkovе.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched ten attacks toward Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Kurylivka, and Novoplatonivka.
In the Lyman sector, Russian invaders carried out 13 attacks, attempting to penetrate Ukrainian defenses near Lyman, Drobysheve, Stavky, Dibrova, and in the areas of Novovodiane and Novoiehorivka.
In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy attempts to advance near Yampil, Platonivka, and toward Riznykivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces attempted seven assaults to improve their tactical position near Holubivka, Pryvillia, Minkivka, Nykyforivka, and toward Malynivka.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian troops carried out 32 attacks near Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Stepanivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and toward Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Novopavlivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 54 Russian assault attempts near Toretske, Rodynske, Zatyshok, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, Filiia, and toward Kucheriv Yar, Vilne, Novooleksandrivka, Shevchenko, Hryshyne, Muravka, Novopidhorodnie, and Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions four times near Zelenyi Hai, Stepove, and Rybne.
In the Huliaipole sector, 14 Russian attacks were recorded near Huliaipole, Myrne, and toward Zaliznychne, Dobropillia, and Staroukrainka.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attacks near Stepove, Shcherbaky, and toward Novodanylivka.
In the Dnipro River sector, Russian forces did not conduct offensive operations.
No signs of Russian offensive group formation were detected in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
