Reuven Hazak, a former deputy head of the Shin Bet security service, is one of the officials who exposed the 1984 Bus 300 affair, when the Shin Bet killed two captured assailants after saying they had been killed during the hijacking of a bus. Hazak once quoted the head of a foreign intelligence agency who said that "espionage work is the dirtiest of human endeavors, so only the cleanest hands can engage in it."
