Ukraine's air defense forces neutralized 69 of the 86 drones launched by Russian forces in an overnight attack that began on the evening of July 3.
As Ukrinform reports, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Telegram.
According to the military, starting at 18:00 on July 3, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with one Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from temporarily occupied Crimea, one Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missile fired from over the Black Sea, and 86 attack drones, including Shahed loitering munitions (including jet-powered variants), Gerbera and Italmas drones, as well as Parodiya decoy drones. The aerial weapons were launched from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo, and Oryol in Russia, as well as temporarily occupied Donetsk.
The air attack was repelled by fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:30 on July 4, air defenses had shot down or electronically suppressed 69 enemy drones over northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
Hits by two missiles and 17 attack drones were recorded at 16 locations. Debris from intercepted aerial targets fell at five locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
As Ukrinform previously reported, Russian forces launched a missile strike on civilian infrastructure in the Odesa region, injuring two people.
