Every few days, when Benjamin Netanyahu gets up in the morning he surely pinches himself and asks the million-dollar question: How is it that after the October 7 bloodbath I'm still prime minister? How is that after my stubborn refusal to establish a state commission of inquiry into the disaster, after my failed attempt to topple the Iranian regime, after the nuclear threat was not eliminated, after it was revealed that I was the one who approved the enormous sums that were funneled to Hamas in Gaza for years, after senior aides of mine served foreign countries out of greed and after a few of my confidants have faced criminal investigations or charges – how is it that around about a quarter of Israelis still support me?
