IDF says it killed Hezbollah leader's personal adviser in Wednesday Lebanon strikes

IDF announced it killed the nephew and secretary of Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem in Wednesday strikes in Lebanon.

They said Ali Yusuf Harshi was "a close associate and personal advisor to Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem and played a central role in managing and securing his office."

Overnight, the IDF struck two Litani River crossings in Lebanon, which it said are used by Hezbollah to transfer thousands of weapons, rockets, and launchers, and added that it strike 10 Hezbollah weapons storage facilities, launchers and command centers in the south.

Spain's foreign minister said Israel flouted the U.S.-Iran cease-fire agreement and "violated international law" by launching hundreds of strikes on Lebanon on Wednesday.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni issued a statement condemning "any breach of the cease-fire in the Middle East," adding that if the "Middle East Crisis" were to "flare up again," Europe should consider a temporary suspension of the stability and growth pact, a set of fiscal guidelines that ensure budgetary discipline among EU member states.

Spain to reopen its embassy in Tehran

Spain is reopening ‌its embassy in Tehran ⁠in hopes of ⁠achieving peace in the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, Foreign Minister ‌Jose Manuel Albares told ‌reporters on Thursday.

"I've instructed our ambassador in Tehran to return, to take up his post again ⁠and reopen our embassy, and for ‌us ⁠to join ‌in this effort for peace from every ⁠possible quarter, including from the Iranian capital itself," ‌Albares said.

In response, Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said, "Spain is reopening its embassy in Tehran. Hand in hand. Without shame. To the disgrace of the world."
