In the temporarily occupied Crimea, the Moynaki substation in Yevpatoriia caught fire on the night of July 10 due to a drone attack.
According to Ukrinform, the Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported this.
“In Yevpatoriia, the 110/35/10 kV Moynaki substation caught fire after the drones arrived,” the message states.
It is noted that the city and surrounding settlements were left without power.
Earlier, the Telegram channel reported that drones were flying near Yevpatoriia, above the village of Uiutne, and that attempts were being made to shoot them down, but without success. Later, an explosion was heard, and the power went out in Yevpatoriia.
A large-scale modernization of the power substation, costing 1 billion rubles, was carried out in 2024. During the reconstruction, power transformers were replaced, and the total capacity was increased nearly fourfold—to 126 MVA.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Unmanned Systems Forces struck a key facility of the Kuban-Crimea energy bridge, three radar stations, and a training ground.
