The contract stipulates that Raytheon will both produce and sustain the SharpSight radars. Blue Raven is set to focus on delivering the radar to new and existing international operators, increasing availability of the technology in a competitive market environment.

Blue Raven chief growth officer Paul Elefonte said: “We’re excited to partner with Raytheon on SharpSight, to grow its market across a broader range of platforms, fleets and mission profiles.”

SharpSight is a platform-agnostic radar solution designed for use on both crewed and uncrewed systems. It supports a variety of operations, including anti-surface warfare, border security, coastal monitoring, search and rescue, and extended-range surveillance.

According to Raytheon, SharpSight can accommodate integration across multiple platforms and provide adaptability for different mission needs.

Raytheon advanced products and solutions president Dan Theisen said: “This contract is a clear signal of strong global demand for SharpSight and the advanced surveillance capabilities it brings to the fight.

“By partnering with Blue Raven, we’re making it easier and more affordable for customers to field this capability at the scale that fits their mission, whether that’s a small fleet or a larger enterprise deployment.”

SharpSight’s development builds on technology derived from Raytheon’s existing Highly Integrated Synthetic Aperture Radar (HISAR) and SeaVue Multi-Role Radar (SVMR) lines. Its open architecture allows for rapid upgrades and integration to address evolving requirements.

Raytheon said it is expanding production capacity and building radar systems in larger quantities to increase monthly output and shorten the time from contract award to delivery.

These moves are part of its broader effort to expedite production, reduce lead times, and deliver critical capabilities to customers more quickly and at lower cost.
