Russian forces carried out nearly 110 attacks on populated areas across Ukraine's Sumy region between the morning of July 2 and the morning of July 3, killing five people and injuring 34 others.
According to Ukrinform, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this on Facebook.
A total of 26 settlements in the Sumy, Sad, Richky, Krasnopillia, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Vorozhba, Yampil, Seredyna-Buda, Esman, Nova Sloboda, Buryn, Putyvl, Velyka Pysarivka, Nedryhailiv, and Romny communities came under Russian attack.
The highest number of strikes was recorded in the Sumy, Shostka, and Konotop districts.
Russian forces used artillery, guided aerial bombs, multiple launch rocket systems, and drones, including FPV drones.
In the Sumy community, civilian infrastructure facilities, private homes, and passenger vehicles were damaged. A Russian drone strike injured two men, aged 51 and 64, and two women, aged 23 and 18. A separate guided bomb attack wounded three women, aged 55 and 56, four men, aged 31, 48, 49, and 55, and two girls, aged 11 and 9. Three girls, aged 11, 13, and 14, as well as a 65-year-old woman, suffered acute stress reactions.
In the Richky community, a 49-year-old woman was killed in a Russian drone strike, while a 47-year-old man was injured.
In the Vorozhba community, a residential building and a service vehicle were damaged. A 55-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman were injured when a drone struck near their vehicle.
In the Sad community, Russian attacks damaged private homes and a car. Two men, aged 69 and 70, and a 67-year-old woman were injured in a drone strike, while another 52-year-old woman sustained injuries.
In the Romny community, a Russian drone struck a house, killing two women, aged 39 and 26, a 76-year-old man, and a 1.8-year-old girl. Three men, aged 33, 35, and 62, were injured.
In the Bilopillia community, two men, aged 53 and 63, were injured in a Russian drone attack, which also damaged a vehicle.
In the Nedryhailiv community, a 50-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction following a Russian drone attack.
In the Buryn community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged. Residential homes were destroyed in the Seredyna-Buda and Esman communities.
In the Hlukhiv community, Russian strikes damaged a residential building, non-residential premises, and a vehicle. A house was destroyed in the Znob-Novhorodske community, while a private household was damaged in the Shalyhyne community.
Several people injured in earlier Russian attacks also sought medical treatment: two women wounded in a strike on the Seredyna-Buda community on July 1, and a 13-year-old boy and a 46-year-old woman injured in attacks on the Sumy community on June 30.
One person was evacuated from the region's border communities over the past day.
Air raid alerts in the Sumy region lasted a total of 21 hours and 12 minutes.
As Ukrinform reported, Russian forces also attacked a postal vehicle with a drone on July 2 on a road between settlements in the Vorozhba community of the Sumy district, injuring the driver and a postal worker.
