A Russian drone attack on Odesa in the early hours of April 24 killed two people and injured 14 others, Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa regional administration, said.
The two killed were a married couple, both 75 years old. Fifteen people were injured — eight of whom were hospitalized — the head of the city administration, Serhiy Lysak, said.
Three residential buildings sustained significant damage. Two of the three — two- and three-story structures — were destroyed, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said.
A cargo ship flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, bound for one of the ports in the Odesa region, was also damaged in the strike. A fire broke out on board but was extinguished; the crew was unharmed.
In the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, Russian drone strikes killed two more people and injured five others.
Over the course of the night, Russian forces struck Ukrainian territory with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 107 drones, about 70 of which were Shahed attack drones, Ukraine’s Air Force Command said. Ukrainian forces neutralized 96 of the drones; two ballistic missiles and 10 attack drones struck nine locations, with wreckage from downed aircraft falling in two others, Ukrainian military officials said.
