The boycott of filmmaker Nadav Lapid by the Marseille FID international film festival had a happy ending, from his perspective. Hundreds of industry professionals signed an open letter in support of him, vindicating his radical political critique of Israel. Personally, I think it is a pretty bad conclusion to the affair, not because I do not value the importance of solidarity, but because Lapid would not have won the backing he did had he not had "politically correct" views on Israel.
