Israel recently shared intelligence with the United States about an alleged new Iranian plot to assassinate US President Donald Trump, CNN reported Friday, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
According to one source, the warning was delivered earlier this week. Another said US intelligence agencies had already been monitoring discussions about possible assassination attempts against Trump in recent weeks, but the Israeli intelligence referred to a specific alleged plot.

The details of the reported plan remain unclear, and two sources told CNN that US agencies had not independently verified the intelligence or been tracking that particular threat before Israel shared the information.
Some US officials suggested the report could also be part of a broader Israeli effort to influence Trump’s decision on whether to intensify US military action against Iran.
The White House declined to comment directly on the reported intelligence, referring instead to Trump’s own remarks made on Wednesday.
“They want to take out the US leader – me,” Trump told reporters. “I’m on every single one of their lists… These are evil, sick people. We have to root out that cancer.”
Trump later said he had recently learned he was at the top of a new Iranian assassination list, though it remains unclear whether he was referring to Israeli intelligence.
The United States has long warned that Iran could seek revenge against Trump over the 2020 drone strike that killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani.
