On May 5, Russian forces launched a Shahed drone attack on the center of Chernihiv, damaging an administrative building.
In the Poltava region, the death toll from the Russian strike has risen to five.
The main targets of the enemy attack on the night of May 5 were energy facilities, oil and gas infrastructure, railways, and industrial sites; there were casualties and injuries.

Russia’s overnight attack hit energy infrastructure in Poltava, killing two rescuers in a second strike. Zelensky condemned the “cynicism” and warned Ukraine will respond in kind.
