Navantia press release

Zagreb 5th. March 2026.- Navantia is proposing to the Croatian Navy a long-term industrial cooperation in the naval domain.

The Avante 2200/ALFA 3000 is the solution that Navantia is offering to the Croatian Navy for the Multi-role Corvette programme, a modern and existing well proven platform aligned with NATO standards and designed to maximise the operational availability of the Croatian Navy from day one, reducing risks, shortening timelines, and facilitating lifecycle support.

Navantia is not only offering an in-service ship, but also a commitment for bringing together the Croatian industrial ecosystem. The company has hosted and Industry Day in the Zagreb Chamber of Economy in order to explain its strategy to foster technological and supply‑chain partnerships with Croatian companies to maximise local participation.

More than 50 representatives from Croatian companies have attended the meeting, including the most important Croatian shipyards. Navantia has signed letters of intent (LoIs) with one shipyard, ULJANIK Brodogradnja, and one engineering and defence services company, NORTES BLUE.

The event has been introduced by the Ambassador to Spain, Jose Ramón García Hernandez, highlighting the support of the Spanish Government to this programme and the reliability of the Navantia proposal.  Afterwards, Navantia has explained its commitment to involve local industry in the project of future Multi-role corvettes for the Croatian Navy, including the delivery of two units, an Integrated Logistics Support package with spare parts, training programs for the crew and maintenance personnel, simulators, and support from the Spanish Navy. A key point to highlight is the industrial participation plan involving shipyards, naval engineering and local Croatian companies.

Finally, the companies had the opportunity to participate in B2B meetings with the Navantia team in order to better align needs and capabilities, as well as share time and experiences among them.

“This Industry Day is an opportunity to maximise the integration of Croatian industry into our Multi‑role corvette proposal, a proven and operational vessel. Our goal is to share technology, open real supply‑chain opportunities, and deliver operational value to the Croatian Navy from day one”, has assured Alfonso Valea, Navantia commercial director for Europe. “Our offer reduces the risk in time and budget and places us as the most suitable offer for the Croatian Navy”.
